We thought he might have been (a chance) but he trained during the week and he’s still in a fair degree of pain with it. I don’t imagine that will change.

It takes a bit longer for the bigger blokes to get their match fitness, but I reckon Willie will have a big year.

Easily, he was close to our best, I thought. He just did the simple things that he’s good at really well and repeatedly. That’s what we need him doing, being really solid in the middle.

When he does play for us he’ll be coming off the bench for 20 minutes and that’s a big step up to playing 80 minutes in a Test match.

Hopefully they’ll look after him while he’s in camp because he’s on a fairly modified program for us and I’d hope they would carry that through.
