We just didn’t execute down the stretch. We didn’t make the plays and they did.

We’ll just have to see. Right now, I’m more concerned with my role on this team.

We wanted to finish the year off right. We know we’ve been so close, and for us to get a win like this feels good – especially finishing 2005 off with a win. But we’ve...

The last story with Siegfried was the funniest. It’s good that these guys are still able to do that [come in and talk to us] for the young players to see what the tradition is...

I just probably got a little anxious thinking about overtime instead of making free throws. I guess I’m human after all. I’m going to make some plays down the stretch and I’m not going to...

When you’re down by 19, it just puts too much pressure on your defense. We needed to make consecutive shots and just couldn’t sustain it.

I look beyond that at this point in my career. Maybe earlier in my career I would have thought about it more, but at this point it’s more about wins and losses.

I think he’s going to be an All-Star, if not this year then next year.

This was a much-needed one, … Regardless of how we got it. We haven’t played well the last five games.

When I saw the part about chains, hip-hop and throwback jerseys, I think that’s part of our culture, … The NBA is young black males.

Things are going to turn around, two heartbreaking games we had. Hopefully we can just learn from these types of games as the season goes along.

Those are things that tear teams apart. When you have a feud with your best player and he’s not responding, everybody else feels like they’re going to have to respond. It starts with your best...

With the team we’ve got, it’s a fine line. If you look at what Ricky did for us last year off the bench, he gave us that spark. Then, on the flip side, he’s probably...

It’s probably the best I’ve played throughout my career. I’m older, a lot wiser, more comfortable and I feel great. I’m in pretty good shape. It feels good.

We’re looking for certain guys to establish their roles. What are they going to be for this team? That’s what preseason is about, especially with the team we have. A lot of guys didn’t play...

I didn’t intend to get into a scoring duel. But I wanted to step up and take him at the end.

He’s a strong guy and obviously you have to foul him a little harder.

It’s one of the daily soap operas I check out. I think it’s good for the NBA. You need something like this to keep people into it.

For the most part, we did get good shots. I thought we moved the ball well. The ball just didn’t bounce my way today.

I was really disappointed in our defense down the stretch. We gave up too many easy baskets. They got a couple of dunks and a couple of layups. That can’t happen. Not in the playoffs....

We made the necessary plays we needed down the stretch and got the big stops. We’re starting to win these close games now.

I think we played with a lot more energy,

The last time I had a run like this was probably my senior year in high school. We’ve lost so many close games this year that we just needed to give ourselves a chance.

Well, he didn’t give me a yes or a no. I just told him that it would be an honor, and that I’m interested.

He’s taking a team that didn’t make the playoffs a year ago and definitely has made a huge impact on them. Obviously, when he’s on the court with them they’re pretty much unbeatable. When he’s...

I think we can use another veteran. But I’ll tell you these young guys between Al (Jefferson), he’s going to get better once he gets healthy, Tony Allen, Gerald Green, Kendrick Perkins, Ryan Gomes, I...

I think we learned a lot from our mistakes. We had a chance to watch a lot of film and see the mistakes we made. I think we’ll be ready this time, knowing this is...

We just didn’t execute down the stretch. I thought we got the shots we wanted. I liked our effort.

It takes a while to learn about everyone’s tendencies. You have to learn where guys like to get the ball. Today was good for that. It will be even better next week when we have...

I guess the league is trying to clean up the image. They’ve done surveys . . . and they say that we’re behind baseball and football and the rest of the sports. But also we’re...

Two heartbreaking games (in a row).

You could tell this is a team that’s ready to get the season over. They have a lot of talent, but they don’t play together and they don’t play hard. Mentally, those guys are ready...

We were very fortunate. Obviously, there are a lot of things we have to work on. I thought we played good defense.

We feel like we’re real close, it’s just the little things. Our problem is a sense of urgency in the last three or four minutes of the game. We’ve got to get loose balls, get...

All I can say is the same thing I’ve been saying all along. I’ll lend him my full support.

It’s a step in the right direction. Hopefully it’s something we can build on.

Definitely it’s different now. I think so. I think the ball is moving around a lot more. Guys are playing unselfish, looking for the next pass. I mean, I think it’s obvious with the way...

I think we’re finally coming into our own on the road. Hopefully we can make this a good road trip and get the next one.

I dress how I feel anyway. I think I’m just going to continue to dress how I feel. I think there’s some days I may take a fine.

The kid had a lot of hype coming out of high school, and nobody understands the type of pressure that is at such a young age. It’s amazing that he can handle the type of...

A lot of guys are growing up before our eyes like Gomes and West.

We probably don’t want to build a Grizzlies Stadium, because it’d be hard to put up and hard to get rid of, but aside from that, what would you like to see,

It was definitely a big win against a division rival and a team that has been playing well…It was a good win for us.

I just take what comes to me. If the drive is there, I’m going to take it. If it’s not there, I’ll take a pull-up shot. I’m a confident player down the stretch and I...

One cool thing about mathematics is they (the audience) don’t have to be able to understand math to see the passion that makes it so exciting to them.

I think Marcus is like a lot of guys in the league. He needs the minutes to get comfortable with the system and the coach, and Marcus never really got that with us. He never...

We’ve got to keep our heads up. We’re going to turn this around sooner or later.

We just didn’t have our heads there. We know we should have closed the game out. We used it as [motivation].

He brought great energy to the whole arena when he came in. That’s basketball and the crowd wants to get behind you — especially if you play well. They probably would have booed if he...

It’s definitely a tough one to swallow. We were in control for most of the game.
