We have started to see clear signs of recovery in the electronics sector. But we are still halfway through before a full-fledged recovery.
—Nobuyuki Oneda
We are seeing a steady recovery path in the electronics segment.
We’re conservative on the November and December outlook, and that’s why we’re keeping the full-year forecast unchanged.
In the electronics business there were signs of recovery but it’s not yet at a satisfactory level.
Both consumer electronics and game businesses did well during the year-end sales season, while the financial services operation expanded, giving us record-breaking net profit and sales in the third quarter.
Our operating profit surpassed our previous estimate because the one-time profit from returning pension funds to government was larger than expected.
Along with the recovery of the electronics segment, the strong performance of the finance businesses drove up our earnings.
We see a big business chance.
