I think we ran out of gas with just eight players. We need to use depth to our advantage.

You’ve got to laugh at yourself, or laugh at your team. There’s pressure on any team, but you have to make as many great memories as you can along the way.

Every time their games went into overtime, they won. I’ve seen many instances where the pressure is really on, and they come through.

I think [the fans] have a huge impact on the game, and on our opponents, and on our own team. I think we give each other energy. There’s no place like [Cameron Indoor Stadium] in...

That loss was a week ago, and did not really play a factor at all. I’m a little disappointed with our effort overall, but I’m happy that we came away with a win.

I don’t think being married has made her more mature. I think because she was (already) so mature, it was one of the reasons she knew she was ready to be married. She’s always been...

I told the team afterwards that it’s not a bad thing to have a game like this. It’s been almost too easy for us up to this point. Everything was flowing; everything was in sync....

I think Ali changes the game at both ends of the floor but specifically on defense. It allows our guards to really pressure the ball and get up in the passing lanes, because they know...

She has a great way about her that makes everyone feel comfortable. She has gone about things the right way; she hasn’t stepped on anybody’s toes. She calls Dawn Staley ‘Big D’ and calls herself...

Our focus around practices have been the best of the season for two weeks straight. It’s been kind of nice.

I would love to have Alana for the rest of my life. I think I was just very fortunate to have her for four years. When you have someone that special to get to spend...

Once we got the lead, we were still anxious. I think it took the wind out of our sails a little bit and we were a little fatigued at that point.

That’s the great thing about the women’s game. The players are very approachable. They haven’t been tainted by stardom. They just come to play.

We don’t run many plays for her at all, which is different than we had in the past. But the grand scheme was to make everybody feel important. So her minutes have gone down, her...

I was just a little worried about fatigue and playing this 11 a.m. game. I was really proud of the team. I thought it took us a little while to get going, but once we...

It’s the little things (that will decide the game). When you get to this stage, every team is a great team. You’re not going to make changes at this point in time, so you have...

I’m not worried. Every time we’ve lost, we’ve learned. Now we have several days to really work on some of the things we need to, to get ready for the NCAA tournament.

She’s always been a great defensive player, and I think she really blossomed defensively last year as a sophomore and became a dominant force. This year, our goal was for her to become as aggressive...

She’s just such a mentally and physically tough kid. I think especially this time of year, that’s what you need.

They just continued to gain more confidence the longer they played with us.

She leads the team in floor burns.

We can usually count on [Currie] for her consistency. Tonight she had one of those nights that every player has, and I think it’s a tribute to the depth and strength of our team that...

In the first half, we had good energy, but we missed a little focus. I think part of that was us getting a little rust off us. In the second half, we talked about being...

When she’s blocking shots, I think it’s extremely intimidating to the opponent, and it also changes shots and that gets the transition game going. She gets the ball out quickly.

I told the team I’m kind of glad. I know that we will be better because of this game.

They avoid conflict as long as possible. Then they explode in stressful situations like when it’s a tie game, when you need a cohesive unit.

We’ve felt like we’ve had a great conference for the last two years. It may be the best conference in the country from top to bottom. But until you can back it up and get...

You could tell where we were in the pecking order of things. We were an afterthought, really.

She’s so unassuming, she doesn’t need to be a star.

All of those things are important except staying No. 1. That’s not anything we’ve ever talked about. But the players know what’s on the line. And it is Carolina, so I really don’t have to...

The fact that they are playing with great freedom — they seem to have a chip on their shoulder while they’ve been here, talking about respect. I don’t think that anyone now could possibly not...

We knew it was going to be a battle. It was a great team effort. Five players in double figures, and everybody who came off the bench contributed something to win the game.

We knew we were coming up against a strong team with a great tradition. I’m extremely pleased with our effort, especially with our defense in the second half, which I felt was the difference.

I don’t think [Saturday’s loss] should affect our No. 1 seed at all. If it was to a team that wasn’t ranked — or not highly ranked — I’m sure it would. But because Maryland...

It was one of the best defenses we’ve seen.

We’ve had the best conference, but until you back it up, win a national championship, it’s all talk. Now, we’ve shown people.

That was not a good situation for us. Lindsey runs the show for us.

She competes very hard. There’s an aggressiveness about her that, beyond her passing and scoring ability, is something you just can’t teach.

At that point, I felt that Maryland was shooting lights out. They were playing great basketball. So I felt like – I was hoping – they wouldn’t be able to shoot that way for the...

That was a really good start for us. Now we know it gets much more difficult from here on out. We’ll prepare for that. … We’re not kidding ourselves; we know that’s not going to...

When you turn the ball over, they’re going to make you pay for it. Let me put it that way. Against some teams you can get away with turning the ball over 23 times. Carolina,...

This is a time for celebration for our team. But there are a lot of tough things going on campus. We don’t know much about it. We’ve been out of town. But when you come...

I knew they were going to come out fighting and battling and they did. When you’ve got a team with such tradition and at home, it’s a very dangerous combination.

I’m really impressed with Jefferson. I’ve watched several tapes on them and she keeps getting better and better. She can create her own shot and she’s strong, physical and athletic. She’s a tough kid. She...

I wouldn’t say it’s an easy fix. I think it’s a mentality. Once again, I feel like we have to become mentally tougher.

I think both teams take pride in their defense.

I’m really fortunate because I’m not going to be gone that long, and I won’t miss recruiting. This summer I missed a good bit — July’s our big recruiting month — and I missed most...

We don’t run many plays for her, which is different than in the past. But the grand scheme was to make everybody feel important so that, if and when she had an off night in...

We knew win or lose, it was just one game. It doesn’t change anything. It was an opportunity to find out how good we were. Today, we were pretty good.

That was the most beautiful ugly win we’ve ever had. We’re just elated to be going back to the Final Four.
