We shoot out here at the (Rowan County Wildlife Association) range the first Thursday of every month, rain or shine.

A lot of times our theme has been based on battles or different historical characters.

There are no clip-fed or semi-automatic guns here. All of the guns are pre-1900 in design.

These are not people you might associate with firearms ownership or competition. We have a lot of diversity in the sport today. We have dental assistants, bank managers, teachers and textile workers. We have teenagers...

There’s not the same coldness you find at other competitive events.
