In the first inning we left two guys on with one out. We had a chance to jump up on them three nothing and hit a hole. Just like we did defensively, we did offensively, we didn’t take advantage of our opportunities.
I am proud of how the kids came out focused and ready to play. We started to hit tonight, got good pitching and played good defense, but we have to come out ready to go again tomorrow.
One of the first things I told the kids afterward was that Fred pitched a heck of a game. I honestly thought if we made the plays we should have made, they probably had five or six runs, and that’s good against anyone.
What’s good is we’ve had a couple of things happen that’s shown us some weaknesses that we have, and thank goodness we’re seeing them in early April. We’re recognizing things we need to work on and there are a lot more games to be played.
