I think the encouraging things are to see some of the performances of the young Canadians that have been at their first Games.

We have a very strong team coming. We have some excellent proven performers who’ve been to other major events, including previous Commonwealth Games.

Sure, it would be great if we had every single one of the best athletes in Canada here. However, we know that athletes have all sorts of priorities.

Melbourne is just sports crazy. So they’re really excited about this.

It would be great if we could bottle it up and take it home.
