I realistically think we can win it all this year. But our mental approach has to be better.

We hit the ball hard, and we hit it a lot. And we threw two kids for seven innings each.

Everybody contributed up and down the lineup. I lit them up a little bit Wednesday about their performance against Steamboat Springs, and they came out focused.

We used these games to get some different looks.

We’ll eventually have to use a relief pitcher more often. But right now, our starters are doing what they need.

Games against Battle Mountain will be good for us because it will be a challenge to stay sharp. We can always use more work on live situations.

We’re getting some good work in. But we’re losing games on the schedule that we can’t get back.

What you saw today was complete baseball. We do the little things right, and that has been the key this year.

We hit enough to win in the first game, but we left a lot of guys on base.

If one guy gets down, and you keep him down, you lose one-ninth of your team. This year, we’re going to have teamwork.

Those numbers can be deceiving because of the pitching we faced wasn’t as good. But the summer ball did give us a lot of innings.

It’s not like they’re swinging for the fences. We showed patience and then we swung the bat the right way when the ball is there.

We need to be on the grass more.

Any coach is going to like that.
