The French court’s decision and President Chirac’s statement to call the ship back shows how a government when pressured by the public opinion can take corrective action.

We call upon the Indian Ministry of Environment to scrap their decision to allow this ship to come to India.

India is being used as a dumping ground. The French government has taken a very arrogant approach. They have cheated, misled and lied.

India is not a dumping ground for France.

It is a crime to allow asbestos [into India], and those doing so should be prosecuted. We will oppose the Clemenceau’s entry to the last.
