How do we acquire our first language? Fist we hear it, then we understand it, then we speak it, then we read it, then we write it.

We used to have kids brought here through a church, refugees with life-and-death stories.

We develop a plan for all of them. There are only two or three that really need more specific kinds of stuff.

It’s fascinating. These kids do so incredibly well. I just can’t even imagine how confused I would be.
