The premier said sometimes people say things they shouldn’t and they regret it and he accepts that, but he’s part of this team and they will get through it.

He was shocked and, I daresay, a little hurt.

The premier didn’t mean to say that there would be national elections for senators this fall. He clarified (to me) that there would be discussions this fall on Senate elections.

But we’re also very proud of our methods. We just always want to ensure we’re accountable to taxpayers and to make sure we hire the very best people.
