I think she pitched a great game. One team feels great, the other doesn’t. That’s what happens in a game decided by one pitch.

We were pumped and ready to play. We wanted to take the field and see what we were made of. We were excited and ready to play.

Offensively I was more pleased with her than her pitching. She led off and went 2 for 3. She competed, despite all this (bad weather) that’s going on. I’m proud of her. She’s a competitor.

We finally got a shutout. That’s all right. We’ll take the four but I’m really happy with the zero. I’m really proud of the girls and their effort.

We weren’t in a good rhythm, not like we should have been, but Van Buren’s a scrappy team and they played well. Shepard pitched her heart out.

I was concerned to a point. I thought maybe we were going to be a little flat again, maybe still licking our wounds a little.

It was tough with this wind. But mentally this may be the thing we needed, hitting the ball on the button and executing some things. Hopefully this gets us back in the groove.

It was a timing change with the first pitcher.

Normally I don?t brag on my kids too much, but they were ready to play this weekend. They came out fired up to play. I was impressed.

That always hurts. We kept trying to play for a run because we felt like if we could just punch one we’re scoring again. It didn’t happen, but it worked out that we held them.

We finally get a conference game at home and I think we’ll have a little bit of a following out there. I think they liked what they saw against Mountain Home.

We don’t need a lull (this week). We need to prove to ourselves that we can play and that we’re ready for the state tournament. That’s our main objective.

What a time to get it. We keep telling the girls that big players make big plays.

If we play good this week we’ll feel pretty good about ourselves going into the state tournament. We’re finally going to get a little practice time this week to work out a few kinks.

I like what we’ve done so far and we’re ready to see if we can continue that.

We tend to think we can hit the ball a bit. We hit six home runs in our first 10 games.

We look like we’re ready to get back out and play. Thursday we had a real good practice, had a high focus level.

Beating Benton twice in one year, that?s pretty good. They?re a real quality team.
