It is a grave setback to the peace process. Restarting (the peace process) will be seriously undermined.

I am hopeful, confident and optimistic that with goodwill on all sides we will be able to implement the memorandum of understanding signed by (U.N.) Secretary-General (Kofi Annan) and Iraq.

It is the most important site because of the fact that it is very much the seat of the government.

It is my first visit to Iraq … (and) I have come to prepare the ground for the inspection of the eight presidential sites.

We are all satisfied at the progress that has been made, and our report will be before the (U.N.) Security Council very shortly.
