It is great to be selected in a West Indies Test squad. I’ve really enjoyed my time representing the West Indies at the one-day level, but Test cricket is the real test.

I have played with Brian as captain before so this is nothing new. He’s a good leader and has the respect of all his peers.

It’s time to play cricket. That’s what we’re here for. We have had our challenges in the past and this is another challenge. I’m excited about the possibilities.

Obviously New Zealand has been playing better cricket than us but we back ourselves, if we perform well, to be very competitive against them.

Coming out of the first class season back home a lot of the guys have some runs under their belt so they are just hoping to get back into the groove of things.

I’m delighted about playing in my first Test even though it has been some time in the making.
