The market has been basically looking forward to healthy earnings.

Trading volume is increasing at a faster pace than in the previous few sessions. Investors are locking in profits but demand for bargain-hunting is also there, particularly in steel stocks.

Stability is somewhat returning as some of the uncertain factors are being cleared. Chances now look higher than before that quantitative easing will be abolished next week.
