He was always sports-minded. He played soccer and in ninth grade was (Conneaut Valley’s) starting goalie. He was very successful.

He wanted to play football. I didn’t agree with it. I didn’t think he should do it. But he was determined.

It’s just a miracle to see this kid. He would give a lot of kids hope that have trouble. In sixth through eighth grade he was just wiped out with all the seizures and medication....

It could go either way, that’s for sure. They’re both really big boys.
