My first year at Salem State, 1998-99, I decided I needed to get used to my surroundings so I didn’t play basketball.
—Edwina Ashe
We won the MASCAC every year I played at Salem State. Those were really good times. We went to the Division III Sweet 16 twice while I was there. I also broke my own rebounding...
Basketball was my favorite. Probably because I was better at it. It came more naturally for me than the other sports.
Boxing out is the most important part of rebounding. You had to make sure your competitor is behind you and then go after the ball.
