We received a letter from the USA Track and Field two weeks ago but we have yet to meet and discuss the matter.

This culture of waiting for the trials to make the team will not apply this time round.

We asked athletes’ managers to forward names to us and they have done that. It is now up to coaches to decide who is fit for the event.

We are trying to diversify by introducing combined events and we think the Commonwealth Games should be a good starting point.

We may however make a few exceptions, especially for those athletes who failed to turn up at national championships because they were either ill or out of the country.
