We’re making some of the best academic improvement in the state, and we’ve got a bureaucratic blunder that we’re trying to correct, and the state won’t accept the correction.

We knew we were going to start out slow.

We’re still hopeful a majority (of ELL students) will get through, but at the end of the day, we may have 50 kids or 100 kids who don’t make it.

We’re trying to stabilize these folks’ lives and not put them in even more transition. The challenge really is (that) there’s a goal to have these families in some sort of housing within a week.
