Sweeney has thrown well all spring. He throws strikes, he changes speeds, and he has an idea how to pitch. He most definitely is in the mix for one of the bullpen jobs.

We ran into a well-pitched game. After Ramon’s homer, we really didn’t create anything. That’s the way it’s been over the last couple of months.

At least we won’t finish with a losing record. We want to play good baseball. Woody pitched well. It was a good solid game all around for us.

We may give them all extra rest.

Our starters have the ability to work out of the bullpen.

We couldn’t have had a bigger home run than we got from Greenie. And then Ramon. That was just as awesome a comeback as I’ve seen.

He’s certainly pitching very well and making it difficult on what we’re going to do.

The thing about Woody is, he can handle it. He’ll deal with it better than a younger guy. He knows he’ll go out without his best stuff occasionally and put it behind him.

We needed a great outing today, and we got it.

We didn’t swing the bats at all today. We got the big hit there by Joe but we didn’t create many opportunities, and we were dodging bullets all day.

He was erratic with his command and made a lot of mistakes today.

Bottom line is we didn’t play well. I thought we beat ourselves. Then we battled hard to steal it and we came up short.
