The short program was very good for us.

It was very difficult for us to skate after the long trip from Canada to China.

We skated with our soul, with our heart and you can see the audience was with us.

In terms of power, speed and technique it was all there. We have trained to show our hearts and souls in skating and the crowd can feel that.

Maria was scared of it at first. At the beginning of the season it was, like, ‘Oh no, I don’t want to do this.

Calgary was the site of my first and last competition.
