Who cares about my home run? I knew you were going to come to that. That’s not what you play for. Home runs never mean more than a win. It would have been great if...

It’s always nice to do something in front of your fans who support you all year long, … [There are] 47,000 people up there cheering for you and giving you a standing ovation — it’s...

I just did a little prayer, that I might be the last guy to make that out.

That’s the way it goes. There is no more talking, no more excuses. They played good baseball and beat us.

You have to find a way to win. You can’t win with the long ball. You have to find a way to win, to do something, to create something, to hit and run, get a...

winning and getting back to the World Series and getting a ring.

You saw the fans today, they were excited. They were talking trash back and forth. It was beautiful. I felt chills.

You can’t think negative in that situation, … I’m just glad I came through for my guys. This is not over.

We miss those guys, but hey, we’ve got to do it with the team we have here. We’re pretty confident in ourselves that we can do a good job. We have a pretty good team.

That’s what I did.

I just couldn’t believe I did it, … You don’t think that until you make the out. You can’t think like that. You can’t think negative in that situation. Always think positive, and that’s what...

They pitched well. If you look at our lineup, that’s not easy. From the first hitter to the last, we can hit more than any other team. No more talking about it. No excuses. They...

What? Are you crazy?

I don’t know what it is, I always have a tough time seeing the ball against him. I don’t think it was a bad pitch, it was just my approach to try to hit it...

It’s a long season; just another home run; just another win.

When you get a walk-off homer, you get to do whatever you want. You need to be excited about it. You don’t get too many of those, so you need to enjoy them when they...

Can’t we talk about anything other than the home run? … It’s getting old. I’m bored. It’s a new day. If this were Game 7 of the World Series, I guess I’d be more excited.

If I could cut the trophy into 25 or 30 pieces and give it to my teammates and coaches I would. Without them it doesn’t happen. The goal is to get the (World Series) ring.

I would say it’s the best base hit I’ve ever had in my career,

I figure if he’s going to use me, he’s going to use me when he needs me. And that’s what he did. In a key situation, for a game-winning RBI or to tie the game,...

I know he’s kind of disappointed with the season that he’s having, but still, the guy is struggling and he’s got 25 home runs and 78 RBIs,

I was just thinking, ?Jimmy, hit a ball out of the park to tie the game or get a base hit,’

He made the choice. We have great players on our team that can do just as good a job.

If I hurt myself, it’s part of the game. I get paid to play. I don’t get paid to sit out.

With a guy like that, you’ve got to get him early. If he starts to feel comfortable and make his pitches, he might throw eight or nine strong innings at you.

I don’t think our bats responded the way they were supposed to respond. If you look at our pitching, the only game that they gave more than three runs was the game against Puerto Rico,...

I don’t look at the home runs and RBI. All that is good. I always look at the negative things I did.

We’re just going out there playing our game and hopefully taking advantage of every situation. It’s good we win games like that when you have three or four guys hitting the ball good and the...

I feel pretty good today. I had a tough night Friday. I couldn’t see the ball real well. Yesterday, I made a couple adjustments and it worked out for me. Now I’m seeing the ball...

It’s not about me or anybody else on this team. It’s about the guys like Nunez and Mabry and (Hector) Luna. Those guys have been unbelievable. It’s about everyone. That’s why this season has been...

I didn’t even think of that correlation until some of the media outlets brought up that my home run was the last time someone had done that,” Henderson said from his home in suburban Seattle.

I told you I would be ready for opening day. I’m ready.

Facing the best closer in the National League, it doesn’t get any better.

I’m pretty sure he’s going to shoot for No. 1, … Knowing him, it’s going to be real tough for him to walk out of this game. He’s a future Hall of Famer.

Sometimes you think, ‘Why did this happen’ … That’s why this game is so hard to figure out.

I just didn’t believe I did it,

It’s amazing. I think you guys have a good taste of how crazy they are down in the Dominican. This is real big for our country.

[The third base coach] told me to stay on third. I thought the ball was going to die in the grass.

The same way they won three games, we can win three games, … Those guys aren’t unbeatable. You don’t think about Wednesday or Thursday.

Those guys had a great year, … Any of those could have won the award. I want to congratulate those guys for a great year.

That shows you right there that you don’t need to hit the long ball to win games. You need to figure out how to win games. That’s by stealing a base, bunting, a squeeze whatever...

It’s always big to take the lead. You send a message right away that we’re ready to play.

I know I have a chance to get better.

In Washington, you thought I was probably pushing a little bit. Sometimes you’re going to push. Like my dad was telling me: You’re going to drive in a lot, and you’re going to leave a...

It’s never over until you make 27 outs.

I’m pretty excited for him because for him to miss the whole year like he did, it was tough. He’s a tough, strong guy and he wanted to help us out last year. But you...

Can we pull a miracle? What do you think? Of course we can.

Those guys had great years, either of them could have won the award. You couldn’t go wrong with any of those guys.

I don’t look at numbers. I don’t know. I didn’t know anything about it until you guys (reporters) just brought it up. That’s not me. I get locked in on seeing the ball and helping...

It couldn’t be better than this. It gives us the edge to go back to St Louis, but you still have to win two games.
