It was unusual, but not unheard of. This was not a 100-year storm or even a 50. It was more like a 20 or 30, but it is really hard to say.

Carrying doesn’t have to be scoring. I’ve been saying that since I’ve been in Houston, … I don’t have to score points to carry my team. I can get rebounds and assists, and little plays...

The ball’s pretty much in his hands in the fourth quarter. And he takes advantage of the opportunities — getting guys open or even getting his own shot.

We were kind of feeling each other out. He found me, I found him.

I think he has the ear of everybody. If we all can step up the way he’s doing now, I think we’ll be good.

We desperately needed a win.

You know I was mad [about the trade]. But now I’m cool. I’m cool about everything.

It took him 30 shots to get 37 points. I don’t think the defense was that bad, but he definitely made some tough shots.

It’s tough when you’ve started your whole career, coming off the bench. But if that’s the role that I have to play to help this team get better, then you have to put your pride...

It is tough because everyone knows the capabilities they have and nobody is playing to their standards. As a professional, you just have to grind it out and stay focused.

That’s something that’s way out of my control. So I just have to do what I can do when I come in.

I’m about to go cry. It was bad, man. I thought we’d be more prepared and guys would come out and play harder. They outplayed us in every aspect of the game.

My opponent has only said that he would ask serious questions of the president. The time for questioning is over.

If it’s a situation where they don’t feel I’m a starting player on this team, then I guess it would be good to go in a different direction, with no disrespect to either side. I...

He’s getting bigger and stronger with a lot more mass in his upper body,

Every time I get the ball, I get double-teamed. I respect the defense. I’m giving it up.

Of course, he’s had a lot of things that haven’t went his way as far as the season, as far as him coming back to New York. They’re not really winning as many games, but...

They made some good plays down the stretch and we turned the ball over twice and that really hurt us in crucial situations,

You have to get everybody on the same page. We barely had a consistent strategy last year.

He has to rebound, he has to pass and he has to score. Hopefully his body will last throughout the season.

I know we’re not going to run the table, I just hope we can get some type of consistency going. Guys are tired and banged up right now, but we’ve got to pay attention and...

Sometimes coach is calling stuff and I don’t understand some of the things he’s calling. I ask Phil Ford or Herb Williams just to give me some insight, so I think coming off the bench...

Before this year there was no big heckle about it, … Last year, when I did it, nobody said anything. When I was in Houston, nobody said anything. But this year, I don’t know ....

After a week of not playing, just shooting by myself, it was good to get out on the court with my teammates and play well.

We both can complement each other. Everybody has to pretty much feed off each other.

I have never seen Allen and Chris play that good together. They played off each other and they were able to get the victory.

Nelson hasn’t been making his shots lately. I told him to stick with it, … We knew he had to make a shot sooner or later.

I think that helped us a lot by them being selfish and not passing the ball to one another. You are not going to win if guys think about themselves more than the team, and...

Don’t get me wrong, I love Gil’s game, but if I shot the ball every time down on offense, I’d be considered explosive as well. He’s a great player so you have to get a...

It’s tough because you have a vision of what you can do to help a team but then it kind of snowballs on top of you and you end up losing night in and night...

At the ‘one’ [point guard].

Will Francis ever mature into the superstar he seemed destined to be?

We made some crucial mistakes and they have got a group of veteran guys who stepped up.

I saw an all-star and a guy who doesn’t care about statistics. I’m slowly maturing as a player and a person. I still learning more every day.

It was a competitive game and sometimes you get hard fouls.
