You can tell he’s very comfortable with himself. I don’t think he second-guesses things, which a lot of us would when we’re going through in a tough situation.

I can definitely say that things did bounce our way at times. We were blessed tonight,

I think as much as anything it’s their character. They keep fighting, and it’s paid off for us.

Gregg is a valuable and important member of our organization. This is a first step in recognizing his contributions and maintaining consistency among our coaches.

They had the upper hand for a long time out there. We had a tough time getting anything done against their defense. Any time you get into the playoffs it’s a huge deal. I feel...

Right now, everybody is nervous. Certainly, we’re one of those teams. We have a worst-case scenario that we have been working on for several weeks and we have a best case and everything in between.

I think we all realized what was at stake. We had talked about it all week, the big ballgame for us and for them there was a lot at stake. There was a lot riding...

I could have returned his phone calls, but it was off-season.

Mark took most of the script and looked good. I’m sure that’s the way we’ll start.

I felt like he got hit low. (Mark) tried to come back, but he just felt like he couldn’t.

He is explosive. He can really run and he covers a lot of ground. You see when he gets matched up covering people, like tight ends and running backs, he does a very good job.

I would like for the offense to look good, but that’s not going to be easy against one of the best defenses in the league that I’ve gone against, … It will kind of depend...

You make sure you cover all the things we did poorly. Sometimes in a win like that, you have a tendency to say we played great, but you miss a lot of things that we...

I made the decision to start Mark,

Everyone in the organization felt like it was a big mistake letting him get out of there [in 2001], … They said you couldn’t get a better guy. He’s been very productive. He plays hurt....

Why this would happen to us? I don’t know. We’ve had three tough losses and a total of five tough losses. I wouldn’t want a different group to coach. These are the guys I like....

I’m just a cruiser, … I’m not fast.

That’s my responsibility and obviously we wanted to be much more productive than we were in the playoffs. That’ll be one of the things we look hard at.

My commitment to the players was to try to keep this whole group together and hopefully improve and step up again next year.

We haven’t done one thing that anybody else can’t do.

It’s exciting to me, … because we’re getting back some high quality players that have been missing for a while.

We needed to make a few more plays. I think field position was an issue and not being able to get enough plays when we needed to.

Hopefully, they can do it,

After the first year, we’re halfway there,

I was very pleased with both starting groups there, … It’s still preseason, but we needed a good lift.

I think that’s going to be excellent work for us, … They’ve got a good day’s work lined up for us and I think it will be a good workout. Obviously, they’re a very physical...

We have a lot we need to improve on, … We’ve got a long ways to go. Certainly, I don’t think anybody here feels like we’re satisfied with our passing game or our rushing game...

All three games came down to the last play,

I think we take a long, hard look at ourselves, and it certainly starts (with) me on this, and see what we can do about it.

The quarterback situation there, yeah, experience is something they’d probably like to have. But what they have is a high-quality quarterback there.

Brandon’s super important to us and what we decided was it was probably best for the team and for him to put him on IR instead of rushing him back,

Looking back to 5-6, we talked at that time that if we lost another game we’d be out. Trying to win five straight is a tough deal, but our guys seemed to understand what it...

We kept Mark out as a precautionary measure. He looked good this morning. We don’t anticipate any problems.

We think somebody who’s 24 years old is going to be playing here a long time.

the ugliest people in the world.

The contract I signed wasn’t for three or four years. It was for five years.

I learned a lot,

I should have said, ‘Hey, we’ve got several things we’re going to turn in and want to look at with them,’ … ‘We see it one way, and we’ll see how they see it.’ That...

We’re our own worst enemy, … I don’t like the way we’re playing. We turn the ball over and commit penalties. We’re making too many mistakes and need to play smart to win football games...

He’s not a starter.

I think any of us, including Coach Parcells, would say that it’s players that win games. You have to have great players.

We felt like we had some other players that fit the role for us and do a lot of things for us. It was a competitive thing.

Experience is something I’m sure they probably would like to have,

The difference between winning this game and losing it is, you might say, the difference between facing big games now and desperation games.

Our biggest concern is Mark.

I said roughly that I was starting all over again. I don’t think the past buys you anything.

This is an exciting thing for us. One of the biggest things here is we want to keep our coaching staff. It’s very important to us. Gregg was willing to extend his contract.

He’s frustrated with the situation over the last couple years.

I certainly had second thoughts about the way the second half went, so we want to be more balanced. We want to make sure we don’t go into a game and come out of there...

We have a smart football team, and they understand,
