I give Seton Hall a lot of credit. They’re physical. They defend. The bottom line is they came out and came after us and we came out every lackadaisical.

We’re a small team, a gutsy team.

It’s unbelievable. If you look at him, he doesn’t even have a black eye. He just looks like someone who got poked in the eye. It’s a little watery, but it’s not even swollen.

You have to be prepared to have an off-shooting night and still win. We could have hit two or three more threes and everyone would have said we blew them out.

We need to get our forwards involved. We’ve been working on it. Will has been defending, making plays, but not scoring as much. Tonight he took it to another level in a big game against...

In the first half, that kept us in it, because we weren’t shooting the ball very well.

Offensively, in the first half, I thought we played all right. Also, we just couldn’t control Quincy. Second half, I thought we spread the ball out pretty well.

He’s always doing the dirty work. He keeps battling and battling. Will Sheridan is everything that Villanova basketball is about.

We try to play our four guards, but sometimes we have games where we get off to a good start, and we can speed people up and stay with it. We were having a rough...

It?s a chance. He understands that. When we recruited him, he never said that he wanted to leave early. I think he?s as surprised that he?s in this position and had to make a decision...

I never thought we could get a player from a nationally renowned program. I knew there was a strong spiritual aspect to him and great intelligence.

I don’t think (the selection committee) looked at this season as a shock. I think they looked at from the standpoint that Villanova has done this before. They had a great year. They’ve had success...

I wish I could tell you I knew this was going to happen, but I just think we’re always going to win. I’m more shocked when we lose.

I really feel so good about this season. It’s not even not going to the Final Four, we just wanted to keep advancing, keep being together, keep playing together.

I just wanted our guys to settle down. We have experienced guys; they know how to handle it.

That is definitely the perception.

I think in the back of our guys’ minds, they always believe that can happen at any time and they have that great confidence. It’s exciting as hell because in two possessions, you’re making up...

I’m at Villanova for life now. I’m happy as hell.

Allan looked great. He was right back at it and didn’t show any signs of tentativeness at all. He was right back at it.

We’re going to do it nicely, so he’ll do it with me and he’ll be in the pictures with his classmates.

It looked ridiculous. Honestly, I am sitting on the sideline saying, ‘We look like idiots.’ Especially when they would go up and get an offensive rebound.

And then to see Randy carry the flag into that stadium with 80,000 people. I could see how much confidence he had. He was growing up right in front of my eyes and was ready...

I’ve got to give Texas credit. The last three games have been against good teams in tough environments. I’m very pleased with our team, we just didn’t execute.

He’s our best free-throw shooter. I’m glad he got on the line and buried them.

It’s good to get them the minutes. It’s encouraging to me. I can sleep at night [thinking about] the future.

Allan has a serious injury and he’s doing OK . . . That’s all we can say at this point.

Obviously this was an incredible Big East battle. We just said to ourselves, this is BIG EAST game No. 1 – it tells you what this league will be like…Timely shots by Allan Ray, Jason...

We’re a defensive team. We take pride in that. And we just couldn’t stop them. …I’ve never had that feeling, where you just couldn’t stop somebody.

We struggled, and a lot of that credit goes to Marquette. But we finished it off, and that’s a sign of a really good team.

He’s still got time before he can even talk them into a decision. If they clear him, we’ll still have to sit down and make a decision. I’m hoping as we get closer he’ll realize...

We got beat today because they were more efficient in every phase of their game today than we were.

We really enjoy as a team the time that we spend together, just coaches, players hanging out. We always get that on the road. There is an enjoyment to being on the road for us...

I could see this playing out at the end (as a storybook McNamara ending) with the way he was hitting the threes but I didn’t want it to happen at our expense. I was pleased...

Anytime our guards got into their guards, there was always an outlet to one of their forwards. I was very impressed.

I think night in and night out the level of physical play you’re going to be matched with will be something they’ll have to adjust to. It doesn’t matter what a team’s record is in...

My guys showed me something tonight.

I know our guys believed we could beat them and even if we lost this game they would believe it. Everyone talks about our guards, but in our locker room we know what our forwards...

I was very pleased, very proud. We played every possession. We played at fever pitch and that’s what put the game away early.

This is obviously a devastating injury for Curtis and our program. Fortunately, Curtis is incredibly strong, physically and emotionally. I know he will bounce back stronger and better than ever.

He’s good. We actually recruited him. We really liked him. … You know what he’s going to do. He’s just going to pound you. He’s going to go to the glass every time. He’s going...

They take the coaching out of your hands. I never thought I would get another player like Speedy Claxton and I got two of them. I’m a lucky man.

I think we beat them on a good night. They’re great. They deserve to be No. 1. They answered everything we did, we answered what they did and that’s what made a great game between...

There’s nothing we can do about that, other than win every other game.

We really haven’t had a game like that this year where we just felt like we couldn’t get things going offensively. I thought that Pittsburgh, once they got a hold of the game, did a...

Pretty cool. I think that all of us are pretty familiar with each other.

When our press was effective at times, it kept them from getting into their (half-court) sets. When they got into their sets, he hurt us.

We take the responsibility of representing United States basketball very seriously. You realize the enormity of who you are representing — the best players in the world, the best coaches in the world — and...

I can’t tell them apart. They both do the same things every play and that’s where our leadership comes from.

That was a great college basketball game. We were very fortunate to get out of here with the win.

That was a great college basketball game. It’s difficult to take but we have to. It’s part of life and you move on. We have to win the next one that’s what’s on our minds...
