I think it’s a good rule. I do think you might find three (or) four teams (with losing records in the NIT). I don’t think that’s bad. I think it would be bad if you...

He’s really persevered, done a great coaching job with great class and great dignity. You could see the warmth he received, he received it with great humility. No chest bumping or all of that. I’m...

You have to be concerned with him. You can’t come down on guys like [Randolph] Morris and the other giants, and you’ve got to stay out on them. It is particularly difficult with a team...

Now I feel like we’re in the tournament. We’ll be fresh next Tuesday.

Billy and I were able to shake hands after the game and he had some nice complements about how our administration made efforts to protect the court.

I enjoy the NIT. I don’t know if anyone wants their legacy to be he was a great NIT coach, but by the same token, when you’re given the opportunity to play in the tournament,...

(Downey)’s exciting to watch, much like an Allen Iverson is. We’ve to make sure we don’t watch him, we guard him. James White, we know about because he played at Florida. He has a propensity...

Against a team like that. It just doesn’t happen.

This was not an elimination game for us. But in our last four games, we’ve got to play much, much better than we did today.

We’ve had an excellent two days of practice and I think our team is in about as good a frame of mind as it has been in a long time. I think the pressure of...

I think we know how Michigan wants to play style-wise, but can we stop them – I don’t know. In college basketball, it is always about style and how styles contrast. My guess is that...

We are obviously playing one of the best teams in the country.

We lost Carols Powell and we have no one to fill his spot. We don’t have anyone to assume the sole role of leadership that he had. But collectively, I think we do. I think...

You have to be concerned with him on the perimeter and not come down on guys like Morris and Bobby Perry. You have to stay out on him. That is particularly difficult for a team...

The baskets actually look lower than 10 feet.

It may come at a point where I change my mind, but at this point I think he should come back. I think he would be much better served to come back and … improve...

Will this test our motivation? Oh, yeah. The key in my opinion is what happens between now and (the end of practice at) 6 o’clock Tuesday night.

I told them I’d let them mourn until we get back home. When we get off that bus, I’ll do whatever I’ve got to do holler, scream, throw chalk, whatever. We will be ready to...

It took awhile to get him under control.

Renaldo knew going into today that he wasn’t going to start but when the opening came, he was ready. He was ready because he practiced hard the past two days. Starting or not starting doesn’t...

Keep your poise, keep your composure, keep playing.

We’ve had great efforts that has not been a problem. Finishing games has been. We finished tonight.

One win in overtime certainly, certainly helps. It just makes you feel a little better about yourself. But in all honesty, you’ve got to prove that again and again and again.

The point is to keep playing. Block the shot, but keep playing. Ideally, you want to keep it inbounds.

I told my team today … I want each one of my players, when they’re gone, to feel that way. I am so pleased to see him happy at who he is.

It certainly was a big loss for them. They would not have been the same team tonight had Courtney Lee been here. They would have been a much better team. No question.

We played that game like it was a TV game and we didn’t want to lose any (viewers).

All of our games are like that. But this is a group that is blessed with great resolve.

Sparks … shot the ball from the Rupp Museum.
